Apologies, I’d hoped to have another piece up before we reached this stage, but I’ve been so busy visiting stately homes before the visiting season is over that I haven’t had time to write about them.
And in the meantime, there is news. I haven’t just been blasting my thoughts out in here for fun, although that has been part of it. The bigger picture is a book, Burning Down The House, which I am now allowed to say is going to be published by the lovely people at Unbound.
They published my last book, The Hard Way, and the model is a kind of crowd-funding. People pledge for the book, which really means paying in advance. For this you get your name in the book and a copy when it is published.
Various other options are available too, involving tote bags and postcards among other things (I was vetoed on the souvenir fudge, much to my disappointment) and you can find out about all of it - and hopefully pledge for a copy - here.
The sooner it is all funded, the sooner it is published so please do sign up and ideally tell all your friends about it too. That way I have to send fewer begging emails.
Please do post your questions down below, and if there are any houses on that tote bag that you want me to write about now, do say and I will see what I can do.
